SOUL MAIL Sunday: Keep Yourself Soft as a Feather - AND - Let Presence Blossom Forth

Greetings on this SOUL MAIL Sunday, August 2, 2026. Our two SOUL MAIL companions today are Keep Yourself Soft as a Feather and Let Presence Blossom Forth.

This past week has quietly taught me something I didn't expect.

As I spent time caring for my mother, I found that there were very few problems I could actually solve. What she needed most was not my ability to fix things, but my willingness to simply be with her. Presence became more powerful than explanation. Love became more important than having answers.

Coming home, nature has continued the conversation.

The tiny frog I discovered weeks ago has grown and now rests peacefully among the leaves of my peace lily. This morning the frog reminded me to accept invitations, explore new places, and trust that we can find shelter along the journey.

Not every visitor, however, belongs in the house! A cockroach and a line of determined ants gently reminded me that love also includes healthy boundaries. Saying "no" can be an act of care. We can remain soft without losing our wisdom, and compassionate without surrendering our peace.

While watering the flowers, I saw the withered Blood Lily blossom lying on my porch floor. It had two small green seeds ready to be nurtured. Although it once stood upright, it was now creating beauty in an entirely new way. It has become like an abstract painting.

Together these moments have brought me back to two SOUL MAIL messages that were created nearly twenty years ago. Reading them today, they feel as though they were quietly waiting for this season of my life.

The first SOUL MAIL invites us to keep ourselves soft as a feather while creating beauty, balance, and belief. Beauty invites us to see. Balance invites us to live. Belief invites us to trust. Together they feel almost like the three legs of a stool. Remove one, and the others become unstable.

You may view both SOUL MAIL art images and read or listen to their messages below.

May we keep our hearts soft as a feather, our spirits open to the present moment, and our lives rooted in beauty, balance, and belief.

The second SOUL MAIL invites us to let presence blossom forth, trusting that we do not need to understand how everything fits together in order to rest within love's embrace. Perhaps that is what life asks of us—not to harden ourselves against uncertainty, nor to carry the burden of fixing everyone around us, but to remain soft enough to love, present enough to listen, and courageous enough to trust that something beautiful is unfolding, even when we cannot yet see the whole garden.

May we welcome what nurtures love, gently release what does not, and trust that, in its own time, the garden of our soul will quietly blossom forth.
